My name is Naida Begeta, I am a fashion and costume designer.

I live between Los Angeles and the countryside of Sicily.

I work with all kinds of textiles. I love anything that has texture and structure, I love to create my own fabrics.

I was born in Sarajevo where I graduated from Academy of Fine Arts, Industrial Design Department. While still studying I worked as an assistant curator at the Center for Contemporary Arts Sarajevo. This opportunity opened my eyes towards arts and design on all levels.

In 2006 I founded Kao Pao Shu, now an international company based in Los Angeles, mostly known for my bag designs.

I explored and I keep exploring different fields of design through styling (musicians and performers as well as advertising), costume design (theater, short films and performances), artist collaborations, etc.

Putting forces together with other creatives and challenging projects is what I love and what makes my life and my working approach connected with design in all its expressions.
